Creating Connected Mealtimes at Cove Feeding Hub

At Cove, we walk alongside your family as you navigate your child’s feeding journey – helping build trust, confidence, and connection around the table.

Our Holistic Service Model

Feeding is more than a skill – it’s a relationship. That’s why we bring together the knowledge of Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists to offer a well-rounded, thoughtful approach to assessment and therapy.

Together we explore:

Oral motor development and chewing/swallowing skills

Sensory preferences and sensitivities

Family routines and daily rhythms

Our goal is to deeply understand your child’s feeding experience and find meaningful, manageable ways to support growth.

What to Expect at a Feeding Assessment

We want every family to feel welcome, respected, and supported throughout the process. Our assessments are designed to be thorough, yet playful and responsive to your child’s needs.

Duration: 90 minutes
Team: Occupational Therapist + Speech Pathologist

What it looks like:
While one therapist gathers information and chats with you about your child’s history, the other gently engages with your child through observation and play-based activities. Together, we explore how your child eats, drinks, and interacts with food to understand both strengths and challenges.

Session Details

Before Your Appointment

To help us prepare with care, you’ll be invited to complete a detailed feeding history form before your session. This helps us understand your child’s journey so far and tailor the assessment to your unique needs and priorities.

Support for Children Who May Feel Overwhelmed

We know that new environments can feel big, especially for children who are sensitive to change or have had difficult experiences in the past.

That’s why we offer parent-only consultations as a gentle first step. These sessions allow us to:

  • Collect background information

  • Review feeding videos you’ve taken at home

  • Connect with other professionals if needed

This approach supports your child’s emotional safety while still giving us the insights we need to help.
